If you are finding that your 3x zoom is going in the opposite direction of what you want then get this wide angle lens.I was impressed with the quality of the images that this lens can produce. There is very little distortion except when used at very short focal lengths.
The only downsides are the size of the lens, the weight, and the fact that it blocks the optical viewfinder.
